Set it once, use it forever: Projects and Custom Instructions
Tired of explaining who you are every time you open a chat? There is a place to save your fixed context: business name, style, language, things to avoid. Every chat after that already "knows" you.
Every new chat starts from zero, unless you save your context in the right place.
- Claude: Projects → create a project → "Set project instructions"
- ChatGPT: Projects, or Settings → Personalization → Custom instructions
- Gemini: Gems → create a Gem with fixed instructions
Paste something like this:
I'm [name], [role] at [business/company], [location]. My customers: [who]. Language: reply in casual English unless I ask for something else. Tone: [friendly, direct, not too formal]. Don't use these words: [best, cheap, high quality]. If I ask for an email, always include a subject line. If you're not sure, ask first.
After this, "write an email to my supplier" is enough. It already knows who you are, what tone and what language. That saves 5 minutes every chat, every day.
Try it now: create a Project for your work, paste the instructions above, open a new chat and type "write an email".
